Geforce RTX 3080 squeezes a 0.23 percent share in Steam’s hardware survey

The gaming platform Steam is no stranger to collecting statistics, where one of the best known examples is probably its voluntary monthly Hardware & Software Survey in which account holders can share their system configuration. Now that the November figures have been published, a newcomer in the form of graphics cards of the type Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080 is glimpsed.

Despite a crisp supply and a high price, the card launched in September squeezes a share of 0.23 percent, a figure the graphics card type shares with the Radeon RX 5600 XT, which costs almost half of the cost in Swedish trade. Other “Ampere” newcomers such as Geforce RTX 3090 and RTX 3070 still shine with their absence in Steam’s summary.

In terms of other cards in the survey, Nvidia remains king with as much as 73.86 percent of the market, compared to AMD’s 16.53 percent. Unthreatened number one among the graphics chips is the former middle-class favorite Geforce GTX 1060, which with its 10.6 percent is the only card to blow up the ten percent barrier. The most popular AMD card is the Radeon RX 580 with a share of 2.14 percent.
