GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, you have to wait longer than expected for the debut
It all seemed writtenbut at a time when chip production is far below demand, nothing can be taken for granted. We are talking about the release of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, a now mythological card if we think that it was talked about shortly after the debut (obviously also a ghost) of the Radeon RX 6900 XT.
Many changes in specifications, to arrive at a picture that at the moment is the following: a GA102 GPU is expected with 10240 CUDA active cores and 12GB of GDDR6X memory at 19 Gbps on a 384-bit bus. There should be no news on that front, but on that of the release date, yes: until a few hours ago there was talk of an announcement set for May 18 and a debut on May 26, with reviews expected a day earlier. Then it would be the turn of the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, in early June.
Well, according to the trustworthy Videocardz, the announcement of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti has been postponed by two weeks. From 18 May we then move on to May 31, with Nvidia who would decide to unveil the RTX 3080 Ti and the RTX 3070 Ti on the same day. The reviews will not come out, however, on the same day: we can (apparently) talk about the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. June 2, while of the RTX 3070 Ti one week later, on June 9th.
The actual availability of the cards on the market could coincide with the day of the review or leave the next day, at the moment there are no certainties, but the cards are already being distributed and some shops are already creating the pages on their portals.
As for the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, a card with a GA104 in the maximum possible configuration is expected, i.e. with 6144 CUDA cores, the same as the mobile GeForce RTX 3080. Next to the graphics chip there should be 8 GB of GDDR6X memory at 19 Gbps on the 256-bit bus.
