- Gigabyte has announced new graphics cards with special liquid cooling RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 Ampere.
Meet the Aorus RTX 3090 and 3080 Xtreme Waterforce WB (which stands for water block) and the Aorus RTX 3090 and 3080 Xtreme Waterforce AIO with 240mm radiator!
If you look at the water block solution from Gigabyte, the cards are smaller than most air-cooled models from Gigabyte, but are only 2 slots thick. However, the graphics cards have a high profile due to the placement of the additional block at the top.

In terms of cooling, the RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 WB are equipped with a large copper base plate responsible for cooling the MOSFETs, GPU and VRAM.
There are three sets of heatsinks, one on the right, one on the left, and a large set of heatsinks in the center that cool the GPU itself.
- Gigabyte stated that it provided “optimal spacing between micro-radiator channels to improve heat transfer from the GPU through stable water flows.”
Conveniently, WB Xtreme graphics cards come with built-in leak detection. Gigabyte calls this a “leak detection circuit” and it outlines the entire edge of the map.
This will allow you to know in a timely manner if one of your fittings starts to leak or if the water block itself starts to leak.
The GPU will start flashing red on all RGB LEDs to inform you that something is wrong and you need to urgently intervene!
Speaking of backlighting, the graphics card has a lot of RGB LEDs. On the front, sides, and top of the card, you’ll see RGB lighting lines that look diffuse.

The GPU is equipped with a very tall dual-slot cooler with 240mm AIO and RGB fans.
Keep in mind that you will need a fairly spacious PC chassis to support this graphics card. The cooler is not only tall, but the pipes coming from the AIO are centered right above the card, increasing its height by an inch or two.
- Vidyaha has a design similar to its air-cooled siblings. The shroud has a nice metallic finish painted black, as well as a few gold accents on the top and bottom right of the device.
There is some kind of transparent material on the front panel which supposedly allows the liquid in the block to be seen, accompanied by RGB lighting.
