GeForce RTX 4090 and 4080, the custom models arriving between massive heatsinks and RGB

NVIDIA announced yesterday evening that only the GeForce RTX 4090 and the GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB they will be available in version Founders Edition (in limited quantities). However, the cards will also be available in custom version in the models developed by the AIB partners, together with the GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB which will only be custom.

In the past few hours, the partners of NVIDIA have published photos and shared some details on the cards they are preparing for the launch, which we remember fixed at October 12 for the GeForce RTX 4090 and in November for the two GeForce RTX 4080s.

ASUS, here are the RTX 4090 and 4080 of the ROG Strix and TUF Gaming families

ASUS has announced that all three models will come to market within the ROG Strix and TUF Gaming series. There ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 it is equipped with a massive cooling system, which occupies approx 3,5 slot, and which has a rigid structure mostly metal topped with a backplate. 357 mm long, the card presents a new steam chamber with milled channelswhile the radiator is crossed by four 8 mm and three 6 mm heatpipes.

“When subjected to a 500W heat load, the new vapor chamber allows temperatures 5 ° C lower than a conventional design,” ASUS points out. Add to this three axial fans with seven blades, designed to provide 23.8% more airflow and 19.3% more pressure than the fans used on the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090. All this allows, according to the company, to maintain temperatures and noise levels similar to the previous generation.

In terms of power supply, the board has a system with 12 + 4 phases with 70 Ampere power stage. “With two power stages per phase powering the GPU, the total count is 24+4“. The card, finally, does not miss the dual BIOSAura Sync ARGB lighting and the new generation 16-pin power connector.

The TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 it’s thicker than the ROG – ASUS speaks volumes 3,65 slot – but it is shorter with a length of 348 mm. Again the card has a revised vapor chamber, although it doesn’t feature the same design as the ROG Strix model. We find it anyway eight heatpipes, five 8mm and three 6mm. The power supply is in the 10 + 4 configuration and there are other features such as the dual BIOS, ARGB lighting and the new generation 16-pin connector.

The ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB features a heatsink which is basically the same as the larger solution. The 12 GB variant, on the other hand, has a form factor that occupies only 3.15 slots and with a length of 335 mm. As for the TUF Gaming solutions, also in this case we find very similar dimensions between 4090 and 4080 16 GB, while the 4080 12 GB is 3.25 slots thick and is 305 mm long.

MSI GeForce RTX 4090 and 4080, there is also a liquid solution

MSI has announced the arrival of custom GeForce RTX 4090 and 4080 within the lines WIND, GAMING TRIO, SUPREME e SUPREME LIQUIDbut added that more series are planned to be released in the future.

The range SUPRIM aims for the best performance by relying on a cooling system TRI FROZR 3S with TORX 5.0 fans and up to 10 Core pipes. The RTX 4090 and 4080 16 GB models have a steam chamber, while the RTX 4080 12 GB is characterized by a large copper and nickel baseplate.

“The brushed aluminum on the outside of the heatsink and the backplate give the card a powerful aesthetic. The iconic RGB Mystic Light features millions of colors and a host of customization options. Using the dual BIOS, users can quickly switch between two. possibility: low noise or super performance All SUPRIM models are impressive in size and performance, with the RTX 4090 which occupies 3.75 slots while the RTX 4080 models 3.75 and 3.5 slots respectively“, emphasizes the Taiwanese company.

MSI has developed, only in the case of the RTX 4090 model, a version called EXTREMELY LIQUID equipped with a closed-circuit liquid cooling system with 240mm radiator cooled with a pair of MSI MEG Silent Gale P12 120mm fans, designed to provide high air pressure and low noise. Above the PCB, on the other hand, there is a TORX 5.0 fan for cooling other critical components.

The Serie GAMING TRIO returns with an updated look and improved design from TORX 5.0 fans. “At the heart of the heatsink, the RTX 4090 and 4080-based models feature the proven copper and nickel plate, as well as dual BIOS technology to allow for easy switching from Silent to Gaming mode. A brushed metal backplate with design Continuous flow strengthens the card, while providing passive dissipation action. Mystic Light adorns the exterior of the graphics card, illuminating the scene. All GAMING TRIO models are impressive in size and performance, with the RTX 4090 which occupies 3.75 slots while the RTX 4080 models 3.25 and 3 slots respectively“.

Finally, here is the range of solutions VENTUS, dedicated to the RTX 4080 model only. On board the TORX 4.0 fans and a robust cooling system reinforced with brushed aluminum plates. The VENTUS series it is the most “contained” in terms of dimensionswith the RTX 4080 models occupying 3 and 2.5 slots (16 and 12 GB).

GIGABYTE punta su AORUS e GAMING OC

With a statement devoid of details, Gigabyte announced the arrival of the ballots AORUS GeForce RTX 4090 XTREME WATERFORCE, AORUS GeForce RTX 4090 MASTER, GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4090 GAMING OC e GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4090 WINDFORCE in October, while similar models based on the RTX 4080 designs will arrive in November.

AORUS GeForce RTX 4000 solutions provide a WINDFORCE cooling system with new renewed fans to increase static pressure up to 30% and reduce noise by up to 3dB compared to conventional fans at the same RPM.

The heatsink is equipped with a large radiator and a vapor chamber in direct contact with the GPU and several heatpipes. Also renewed the three-ring lighting system, RGB Halo, both on the AORUS and on the Gaming OC. It is also present on AORUS solutions LCD Edge View which allows you to view texts, images or GIFs, as well as critical parameters such as consumption, temperatures, RPM and more.

ZOTAC relaunches with AMP Extreme AIRO, Trinity OC and Trinity

ZOTAC announced that the GeForce RTX 4090, 4080 16GB and 4080 12GB models will all be available in three distinct versions called AMP Extreme AIRO, Trinity OC e Trinity. The flagship solution is AMP Extreme AIRO, where AIRO stands for “Air-Optimized”. The IceStorm 3.0 heatsink features three large fans with blades that are twice the height and width of the previous generation.

A large radiator with aluminum fins, along with a steam chamber and 9 heatpipes they take care of the heat produced by the components, while the fans with double ball bearings – of which a central one that rotates in the opposite direction to contain the turbulence and increase the static pressure – push it away. All models have anti-vibration pads and two BIOSes. The ZOTAC GeForce RTX 4090 AMP Extreme AIRO provides a 24 + 4 phase power supply.

INNO3D, Gainward and Palit

We close with a brief mention on the proposals of the other manufacturers, an area in which unfortunately we will no longer see EVGA operate – for those who missed the news, you can find it here. INNO3D announced the RTX 4090 iCHILL Frostbite, its top of the range card with pre-installed water block. The GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 16 GB will also be available in the iCHILL BLACK version, an air-liquid hybrid solution.

Moving on to air solutions, here is it iCHILL X3 with three 98mm fans, a large radiator crossed by 9 heatpipes and a vapor chamber. The X3 OC completes the picture, very similar in terms of cooling system although with a different appearance. Gainward announced several solutions of the Phatom and Phoenix lines, while Instead models from the GameRock and GamingPro families.
