Gemini Europe appoints compliance officer

Gemini hired Blair Haliday, a specialist in conformity who worked at Circle and JP Morgan, to direct his program on the subject on the European market.

As the AMLD 5 directive begins to impact some crypto-startups based in Europe, Gemini gets a compliance director for its European offer.

In a press release, Gemini Europe, the European subsidiary of the American crypto-exchange Gemini, announces that Blair Halliday is now leading its compliance and anti-money laundering program in the UK and European markets.

As Chief Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer, Halliday will oversee the strategic direction of the program and will be responsible for meeting various regulatory requirements.

Gemini is ready for significant growth in Europe this year. Blair's extensive expertise in the field makes him particularly suited to lead Gemini's compliance efforts, ”commented Julian Sawyer, CEO of Gemini Europe.

Recently, the company led by the Winklevoss brothers created an insurance captive to insure the cryptocurrencies kept through its solution Gemini Custody.
