Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060: Photos and Specs!

The mid-range graphics card we’ve been waiting for.

Looks like Nvidia is going to offer more than just mobile versions of GeForce RTX graphics cards at CES 2019, as we got a new leak on the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060.

Videocardz spies have tracked down Gigabyte’s first release of their version of the upcoming GeForce RTX 2060, along with some specs. The graphics card is supposed to be equipped with the TU106 GPU we expected, along with 1920 CUDA cores, 6GB of GDDR6 memory and a maximum clock speed of 1200MHz.

In comparison, the Nvidia GTX 1060 is equipped with 1,280 CUDA cores, 6GB of GDDR5 video memory (GDDR5X after a recent update), and an overclocked clock speed of 1708 MHz.

And the drop in the RTX 2060’s maximum clock speed worries us a little. However, all Nvidia Turing series graphics cards have so far demonstrated lower overall clock speeds while improving performance over their predecessors.

We still don’t know a lot about the new GeForce RTX 2080, including how many RTX and Tensor cores will be on the video card, when it will be released and for how much. The veracity of Videocardz sources is also questionable. These images are just renderings that would just as well have mirrored any of Gigabyte’s current graphics cards, specs could be adjusted.

The good news is that we’ll soon find out what’s what, as Nvidia is preparing a classic press conference at CES early next month. While the bulk of the talk will focus on deep learning and autonomous machines, we are awaiting some information on the company’s new graphics cards.

We expect to see tons of new graphics cards in 2019.
