Google Stadia, here is the transparent controller that we can never have

Would you like a transparent Google Stadia controller, as in the good old days of GameBoy Color or of the Xbox Crystal Green first generation? Well, it exists, but … You can't buy it, at least for now. And judging by the statement by the Googlers who received it, the hopes for the future are … small, to be very optimistic.

All team members who worked at Stadia until launch day received a limited, unique and never repeated edition of the transparent Stadia controller as a gift. It was a fantastic gadget memorabilia for the launch of Stadia, and it has great sentimental value.

But the challenge doesn't end there. The controller was not working – "disabled", according to the precise term used by Google. Components like battery, motor for force feedback and the cables for connecting the buttons to the logic board were missing. Small obstacle for one who worked on the realization of the product in question: the googler John McDole (who does not actually deal with hardware, but with the user interface) has ventured into the teardown of the peripheral, inserted the components by borrowing them from a another regular controller, and boom. Other than JerryRigEverything!
