It is certain that the hypersonic missiles on the Zumwalt destroyers will sooner or later appear in the place of a different, primary weapon system. Today we got to know the details of it thanks to the artwork from Lockheed Martin.

The American Zumwalt ships have a twisted past behind them, and their arsenal is a great example of this. Initially praised AGS (Advanced Gun System) in the form of a 155-mm turret, they became a nuisance due to high maintenance costs and expensive ammunition, so over time they began to consider their complete elimination.

The four CPS silos were replaced with the removal of the first 155mm Advanced Gun System (AGS). The second one has been preserved, but officially it is really difficult to say what the final look is when it comes to converting these ships into works with hypersonic missiles.
