He’s been waiting for his video card for a year, man sends a cake to the store and gets the GPU!

Who for one reason or another found himself buying one GPU in the last year he had to arm himself with two things: a lot of money and a lot of patience. The shortage of production – together with other dynamics such as that of the scalpers – has caused prices to skyrocket and delivery times.

Emblematic, but hopefully limit, the case of a Polish man who ordered a GeForce RTX 3080 in September last year and had to wait over a year to get your hands on the much desired video card, but not before having sent to the shopkeeper where he had placed the order a cake to celebrate the past year together.

The cake bore the inscription “One year together“in Polish, the photo of an RTX 3080 Founders Edition and the order number. To spread the curious story, on the own Facebook page, it was the same pastry shop to which the cake was commissioned.

The sending of the cake, an original idea to face a grotesque situation in a goliardic way, nevertheless had an effect because after a few days the order was finally processed and the man got the video card. And then someone says that sweetness, in life, does not solve anything.

It is not known for sure which shop the cake was delivered to, but based on the postal code there is a good chance that it is X-com, a Polish shop that it doesn’t exactly have a good reputation: slow to fulfill orders and with often unsatisfactory customer service, last August he contacted those who had ordered an RTX 3070 ten months earlier proposing as a replacement an RTX 3060 LHR, without refund and asserting that the 3060 had the same performance as the 3070.
