How to Apply NASPI Online

By now our public administration is also modernizing, allowing us to independently request various services, assistance and otherwise, via the web. We have already talked about the IO app of the public administration, which wants to become the single portal of relations between state and citizen.
In this article we will see in detail how to apply NASPI online, indicating all the steps to easily apply for the NASPI via the internet.

What is NASPI and how does it work?

The SLEEP O NASpI modified, unified and extended, starting from 1 May 2015, the old unemployment benefits ASpI and mini ASpI.

NASpI stands for New Social Insurance for Employment, it is an indemnity that INPS pays for a number of variable months (which depend on the weeks of contributions) to those who lose their job against their will.

NASPI is paid monthly for a number of weeks that is half of the number of weeks in which one has worked in the last 4 years. If you have worked continuously, the contribution is paid for a maximum of 24 months wages.

Who is eligible for NASPI?

They can access the NASpI all employees, with a fixed-term and permanent contract. The worker must have worked for a minimum of 13 weeks during the last 4 years, must be in a state of involuntary unemployment and must have lost the job against his will.

It also covers those who have had non-renewed fixed-term contracts, those who have been dismissed for just cause and also those who have been forced by some specific circumstances (such as maternity) to resign.

When to apply for the NASPI?

Online application submission for NASPI must be submitted by 68 days (and no later than) from the termination of the employment relationship. The request can be made from the day following the end of the employment relationship, but the actual start of the NASPI allowance varies:

• in the event of termination of a contract, or of simple dismissal, compensation will begin from the seventh day, or from the day following the submission of the application;
• in the event of dismissal for just cause, compensation will begin from the thirty-eighth day, or always from the day following the submission of the request.

How to apply for NASpI online?

The application can be submitted through the online service, the procedure is very simple and strongly guided:

• you have to reach the INPS page;
• click on the “Log into MyINPS”Placed at the top right of the site interface;
• identify yourself with one of the methods present (PIN, SPID, CIE and CNS);

These acronyms might appear to be a bit obscure, so let’s take a moment to explain them:

• The INPS PIN is a system in which after registration we are sent an 8-digit code via SMS or email and another 8-digit code by post. After the first access you must necessarily replace it with a personal PIN to keep. From 1 October 2020 it is no longer possible for new users to request the PIN, except for those requested by users who cannot have access to SPID credentials and only for the services dedicated to them.
• Lo SPID, is the unique system of access with digital identity to online services of the public administration, it is free and quite simple to obtain. If you do not have an account, we recommend that you register one, you can follow our popular guide to SPID.
• YOU, is the new electronic identity card, if you have the complete PIN code (it is 8 digits and divided into two parts) and a smartphone with NFC you can access using the CieID app.
• CNS, Carta Nazionale dei Servizi is a smart card or a USB stick that contains a digital certificate provided by the public administration, private citizens rarely have one.

After having explained the access procedures, you can continue, having logged in you must then:

• if you enter with SPID, you usually have to (change with the provider) press on the notification you get on the phone and enter your PIN. Therefore, once the excess has been made, it is necessary to provide permission to the INPS site to collect the data it needs;
• once logged in, click on “Performance and services“And then on”All the services“;

• on the page that opens on the left select the item “Unemployment, suspension from work and protection of workers“;
• in the new page, always on the left of the page, click on “Unemployment benefit“, Then wait for the upload and click on”Performance and services “;
• finally press the button “Log in”Under the NASpI benefit (it is generally the first);

• a selection menu will open where you can click on “New Social Insurance for Employment (NASpI): application sent“.

At this point we are finally in the wizard dedicated to forwarding the request.
The application is already partially filled in, you will have to complete the compilation with the additional data to be entered, once you have entered the fields just press on “Forward“. Normally the INPS will also have the data of your employment relationships communicated by your previous employer. The whole procedure is simple to complete.
