How to get root access on Samsung Galaxy: SM-JXXX, G, T (APK)

One of the most common questions on the site is “how to get root authorization on my Samsung”. This article proposes some alternatives to root Samsung cell phones of different models, such as the Galaxy S, Ace, Note, Tab, Core, A, among others.

z4root

This is an APK file that installs like any other on Android and allows you to root by just opening and pressing a button. According to the programmer, it is 100% safe and in case of problems, you simply have to restart the device to solve them.

PingPong Root (Samsung Galaxy S6 y S6 Edge)

Another application that is normally installed like any installable APK. Once inside the application, follow the instructions on the screen to obtain root access.

It is a requirement that the Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge have one of the supported Android systems (ROM), which are indicated in the link below. To find out what ROM the device has you have to go to the System Settings, About the phone and look where it says Build number.

This app will not remove the KNOX warranty on the Samsung but it will block OTA updates, according to the creator.

Framaroot

Another APK application to root Samsung devices and others in one tap or one click, using the Install SuperSU option. It also allows you to unroot later (Unroot).

CF Auto Root

This method is compatible with a large number of Samsung devices, listed in the link below.

In this case it is not an application, but a .tar.md5 file that must be “installed” on the Android. This installation or flashing process must be done from the PC, connecting the Android with the USB cable in “Download” mode (to start the device in this mode, with the phone off, press the power, start and lower button at the same time volume).

The PC program used to perform the rooting is the ODIN software, which is included in the download package. The process consists of selecting the tar.md5 file in the PDA field of the ODIN software. If you are unfamiliar with this software, you need to do a little more research online to find out exactly how this software should be configured for the process.

For certain Samsung devices (Fastboot Flashable Devices) the tar.md5 file is not installed with ODIN, but rather a software is run on the PC, which installs an .img file on the device to get root. The device must be connected to the PC in fastboot mode in this case (press the volume down button, volume up button and power button at the same time when the phone is off).

TowelRoot

Another one-touch application to root. Some confirmed Samsung devices that work with this method are as follows:

The creator indicates that it could also be used for any Samsung (or another brand of Android) with a system core date that has been developed before June 3, 2014. To see the core date you have to go to System Settings, “About phone” and see the item that says “Core Version”.
