Driver NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti
When installing NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti drivers, it is always recommended to uninstall the current drivers first. This way you can be sure that the DCH drivers will not be installed by Windows 10.
You can download the NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti drivers here. We recommend trying different driver versions. Some driver versions can cause problems during mining. Installing an older version may fix the problem.
How to Optimize: Overclocking NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti for mining
We will overclock NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti for mining using MSI Afterburner. You can find it in Yandex. The program interface is very simple, albeit a little colorful) To overclock the video card, we need two sliders:
- Core Clock – overclocking by the core, increases the core frequency;
- Memory Clock – memory overclocking, increases the memory frequency.
- Power Limit – allows you to increase or decrease the power consumption of the video card.
You need to change the frequency values a little. Then test the stability of the work. If all is well, then we increase the frequency even more. If the video card starts to malfunction or the driver crashes, then we just reduce the frequency and that’s it. There will be no harm. Next, we will look at the overclocking parameters for popular algorithms.
Overclocking NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti for Ether
To overclock NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti for mining ether or other coins using the DaggerHashimoto algorithm, you need to increase the memory frequency, and, on the contrary, lower the core to save energy. it does not affect the mining speed.

GTX 1080 Ti Overclocking for Mining Ethereum (How to MAXIMIZE HASHRATE)
Thanks for clicking on my video! In this video I’m showing you how to overclock a Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti to increase hashrate when mining Ethereum. To overclock this ASUS GTX 1080ti graphics card we are using MSI Afterburner. To reach max hashrate on this 1080 ti, we start by applying the memory tweak for the GPU in our mining software.
You should also be able to do this by using the ETHlargmentpill software, although I’ve never tested that myself. After this we start overclocking our gtx 1080ti by adjusting the parameters of the graphics card in MSI Afterburner. We start by changing the memory clock of the GPU and see a big increase in hashrate by doing so.
After this we start adjusting the core clock in MSI Afterburner and this allows us to reach the max hashrate of the GTX 1080TI which is around 45MH/S. Finally we start adjusting the power limit of the graphics card to try to reduce the power consumption while keeping the same amount of megahash, and we are able to knock a few watts off the overall power draw.
About overclocking: for crypto mining using GPUs, overclocking is a way of tweaking the settings of your graphics cards in order to improve their performance and thereby increase your mining hashrate. Please remember that overclocking is done at your own risk and the settings for my graphics card won’t necessarily work for you as each card is unique. In short, my process when overclocking in MSI Afterburner for crypto mining is this: pull memory clock all the way down.
Then increase by small amounts until you get a crash. Then leave the memory clock where you got the highest hashrate without crashing and repeat the same process for your core clock. Remember that core clock and memory clock can impact each other so it is important to always analyze and adjust your numbers throughout the process, and experiment!
