After a short break, we return to the review of graphics cards on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti chip and the next model to which this test is devoted is the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GAMING OC 8G. As in the case of the previously reviewed designs of the INNO3D and Palit brands, we are dealing with an accelerator factory overclocked and equipped with a cooling set with three fans.
However, as you know, the devil is in the details and only after testing it will be clear what exactly are the differences between the compared cards in aspects such as performance, temperature, noise, power consumption and quality of workmanship. Before we get down to that, however, let me make a short digression about the market situation, which seems to be slowly returning to normal after months of shortages.
It is enough to look at the prices in stores, which are de facto falling all the time, to come to the conclusion that the demand and the supply are finally leveling out. It is certainly influenced by the more modest interest on the part of digital miners and it is quite possible that the LHR variants of the GeForce RTX 3000 series with cryptocurrency mining restrictions also made a small contribution.
As a result, at the time of writing the article, the RTX 3080 Ti could be purchased from about PLN 7,000 upwards, and the RTX 3070 Ti from ~ PLN 4,200. These amounts are still significantly higher than the suggested ones, but we are going in the right direction and may this rate be maintained in the coming days.

Comment on the specification of the tested graphics card
The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti , as well as the RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070, is powered by the GA104 silicon core. Its production rests on the shoulders of Samsung, which uses an 8 nm technological process for this purpose, thanks to which 17.4 billion transistors cover an area of ~ 393 mm 2.
Physically the GA104 consists of 48 SM blocks and the peer-reviewed GPU is the only one with such a configuration, of course in the context of consumer desktop systems. Ergo, compared to RTX 3070, we have two SM more (4.3% increase), which translates into an increase in the number of execution units as in the table above. In addition, the GDDR6 bones were replaced with GDDR6X, which increased the theoretical VRAM throughput by almost 36%, i.e. very clearly.
At the same time, in this case, the greens did not follow the same path as with the RTX 3060 and did not increase the memory capacity, which we still have 8 GB – 2 GB less than for the RTX 3080. The whole is completed by the power limit in the reference variant to 290 W (for RTX 3070 this parameter is 220 W), which was additionally made by GIGABYTEincreased by another 20 W. The factory OC did not miss the Boost clock, which exceeds NVIDIA’s guidelines by 60 MHz.
In other words, these are the values that place the tested card in the vicinity of the Palit competitor, so at least in theory we can expect similar performance for these two. And what it will really be like, you’ll find out soon.
