How to play Trine Enchanted Edition on Linux – Easy Steps

Trine Enchanted Edition is the updated version of “Trine”, a side-scrolling platformer from 2009. Trine takes place in a medieval fantasy setting and was released on Microsoft Windows, PS3, PS4, MacOS, and Linux. Here’s how to play Trine Enchanted Edition on your Linux PC.

Make Trine Enchanted Edition work on Linux

Trine Enhanced Edition works quite well on Linux, but only with the help of the Steam Linux release. For this reason, we must demonstrate how to configure the latest version of Steam on your Linux computer.

Instalar Steam

Installing Steam on Linux is best done with the terminal. Open a terminal window on the Linux desktop by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T on the keyboard to start the installation. Or search for “Terminal” in the application menu and run it that way.

With the terminal window open and ready to use, the installation can begin. By following the instructions below, configure Steam according to the Linux operating system you are currently using.

Ubuntu

If you want the latest version of Steam to work on Ubuntu, use the fit to install command below.

sudo apt install steam

Debian

It is possible to install Steam on Debian. However, you will need to download the DEB package to your computer. To download the latest version of Steam on your Debian PC, use the wget download command below.

wget https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/client/installer/steam.deb

Once the DEB package has been downloaded to your computer, the Steam installation can begin. Using the dpkg command then configure Steam.

sudo dpkg -i steam.deb

After installing the Steam DEB package on your computer, you will need to correct any dependencies that were not installed during the installation process. To correct errors, use the apt-get install -f command.

sudo apt-get install -f

Arch Linux

Steam is on Arch Linux. If you want to configure it on your computer, you will need to enable the “mutlilib” software repository. To do that, open the /etc/pacman.conf file in your favorite text editor (as root).

Once the text editor opens the text file, scroll down and find the “multilib” section. Then remove the # symbol directly in front of it. Also, remove the # symbols from the lines directly below. When done, save your edits and run the following command.

sudo pacman -Syy

Finally, install the latest version of Steam on your Arch Linux computer using the following

sudo pacman -S steam

Fedora / OpenSUSE

Those on Fedora or OpenSUSE Linux have the ability to install Steam from the software repositories included with their operating systems. However, the Flatpak version of Steam works much better on these operating systems, so we suggest following those instructions.

Flatpak

After setting the Flatpak runtime on your computer, you can begin the Steam installation. Using the two commands below, get Steam working on your computer.

flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo

flatpak install flathub com.valvesoftware.Steam

Install Trine Enchanted Edition on Linux

Once the Steam application is installed on your Linux PC, open the application. Then log into your account with your user credentials. Once you are logged in, follow the step-by-step instructions below to get the Trine Enchanted Edition up and running.

Paso 1: Open the “Steam” menu within Steam. Then select the “Settings” button to access the Steam settings area. From there, find the “Steam Play” section and check both the “Enable Steam Play for supported titles” box and the “Enable Steam Play for all other titles” box. Click “OK” when done to save.
