How to sign an email on Gmail

Email has now become the most used and convenient method of communicating with anyone, especially when we address a stranger or an office, recipients for whom the various messaging services such as Whatsapp and Telegram are rarely used, most suitable for communicating with friends and relatives.

One of forgetfulness that happen more frequently when sending emails is that of forget to sign them, a minor mistake if we send emails to someone who already knows us or with whom we have already come into contact. How to add signature on Gmail from PC

Adding the email signature on the desktop version of Gmail is really simple, just a few clicks. Follow the steps below:

• Open Gmail and log in with your credentials, as you usually do;
• then at the top right of the interface, click on the gear icon;
• then press on the item “View all thesettings“;

• under the tab “General“Scrolling the page, you get to the item”Company“;
• then click on the “+” button Create new“, To create a signature;

• a dialog box will appear asking “give a name to the new signature”, this is useful to distinguish them in case we need to insert several, once chosen click on the button “Create“;
• finally, a text field will appear in which you can enter your signature (also by customizing its font, size and style);

• once the signature has been entered, you can choose through the appropriate drop-down menu which email addresses to apply it automatically (in case you have several).

Note the option that can be selected immediately below, which if checked, allows you to make sure that the signature is inserted before the text quoted in the replies to the emails.

Once you have entered your signature in every new email you create, you will always see it present, so there will be no risk of sending anonymous emails.

Add your signature on Gmail for Android and iOS

Even on mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) it is very easy to insert your signature, automatically in e-mails. But it is necessary to take into account that there are no formatting options and that our signature will only be present in the emails sent in the app. So to set the signature on the desktop, you will still have to do the procedure described in the previous paragraph.

On iOS (therefore on iPhone and iPad) the procedure is slightly different, it differs from point 3:

• press on the item “Signature settings“;
• press the switch next to the item “Mobile signature“;
• then in the field that appears, enter the signature and press the back button to save it.
