Huawei FreeBuds is an elegant gem. And I will say that not only for women!

I have been following the market of electronics and devices made with such attention to detail as the FreeBuds Lipstick for a good 3/4 of my life, you can look for a candle. I only think of horrendously expensive Nokia phones from the 8xxx series from many years ago.

The headphone cover is a real work of art. Shiny metal, vertical gold insert and magnetic closure. All this with very compact dimensions. It can even be stowed in a very small trouser pocket or purse.

After opening the box, we can see nicely contrasting red headphones in a golden environment. A view dripping with wealth, painfully elegant, but not a bit tacky or exaggerated. Whenever I had the opportunity to open the FreeBuds Lipstick on a bus, I could feel half of the passengers staring at me.

Instant evaporation and the convenience of using FreeBuds Lipstick

Modern headphones are nothing without extra features. Huawei knows it perfectly well and some interesting amenities have been added to FreeBuds Lipstick. First of all – fast evaporation. If we use a Huawei smartphone, laptop or tablet, opening the headphone case will immediately ask for pairing on the device screen. Joining is similar.

FreeBuds Lipstisck can be paired with two devices at the same time. Then, for example, if we listen to music on a laptop and our phone rings, they will automatically switch to the call. And when it’s over, they’ll go back to playing music. We decide which device is superior in this case. The relevant option can be set in the AI ​​Life application, which is used to control the functions of the headphones.

Another convenient option is touch control. We do it with gestures by touching the headphone housing. A gesture stroking change the volume, by holding down you control the operation of the ANC, and double tapping, among others answers a call or stops playing music.

ANC in earbud design? Huawei has been doing this for a long time

In fact, Huawei was one of the first companies to show this solution. I remember very well the IFA trade fair in 2019, where journalists gave loudly WOW! after the presentation of the FreeBuds 3 headphones. These were in-ear headphones, devoid of rubber tips, offering Active Noise Canceling (ANC).

It works surprisingly well. Of course, let’s be aware that noise reduction is not as effective as large, full-ear headphones, but the insulation is surprisingly good. We have no feeling about it suction ear, or increased pressure, as if we were flying in an airplane. Huawei uses adaptive ANC here, the operation of which is adapted to the shape of our ear. The effect is that everyone can feel the function slightly differently.

Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick – for calls and music

For such inconspicuous headphones, FreeBuds Lipstick can sound surprisingly well. This is due to very large, for such a construction, drivers with a diameter of 14.3 mm. The sound is very dynamic, which is its greatest advantage. We also have clearly audible bass, and the volume should please everyone.

Headphones work very well during conversations. The noise reduction combined with advanced microphones means that we hear the interlocutor very clearly, just like he can us. The headphones effectively eliminate the sounds of even noisy surroundings. Including the noise of the wind or passing cars.
