Venture firm IDEO CoLab has entered into a partnership agreement with 20 firms, including Amazon, Deloitte and Fidelity, to launch the accelerator blockchain startups Startup Studio.
IDEO CoLab partners also include Messari, Ethereum Foundation and Stellar Foundation cryptocurrency companies. In addition, Startup Studio received support from Atrium, Avanta Ventures, Blockchain at Berkeley, Brex, CoinList, CSAA Insurance Group, Electric, GS Group, Hanwha, NEAR Protocol, Oasis Labs, she256, Silicon Valley Bank and the Tezos Foundation. The goal of IDEO CoLab is to develop a distributed web incubator, which the company launched back in February.
Managing Director of IDEO CoLab, Yang Lee (Ian Lee) said that each of the company’s partners will develop special programs to provide entrepreneurs and blockchain-companies with the tools and financing necessary for the further development, implementation and distribution of the blockchain technology. At the same time IDEO CoLab aims to change the essence of startup incubators. Lee stressed:
“Unlike traditional accelerators and incubators, Startup Studio offers day seminars from IDEO CoLab and our network of partners focused on highly specialized needs, such as product validation, brand development, hiring, user testing or conflict management. Thus, entrepreneurs and start-ups can quickly get the help they need when they need it, and then return to their offices to continue to create great companies, teams and protocols. ”
The proposed programs include a brand design seminar from IDEO CoLab, a seminar on scaling an organization with Electric Capital, and a law and regulation seminar from the law firm Perkins Coie. Long-term residents, based either in San Francisco or in Boston, will work for three to six months with an IDEO CoLab team of about 20 people. Lee noted that the company “has developed a sustainable model to support entrepreneurs in the early stages.”
