Intel Core i5-12490F for China only. What’s so unique about this processor?

The market knows many strange stories with products exclusive to China. Today, this group has been joined by the Intel Core i5-12490F processor available only in this country, which is probably Intel’s way to dispose of less successful silicon systems without causing confusion to the main offer. As it happens in China, the local law on introducing products to the market is not so strict.

What does the Intel Core i5-12490F processor have to offer?

Intel Core i5-12490F ranks among Intel’s i5-12400 and i5-12400, but it costs almost as much as the i5-12600KF, about $ 250. All this while maintaining the PBP / MTP level of 65/117 watts, the core i5-12500 clocks (basic 3 GHz and 4.6 GHz in Boost mode) and the configuration of 6 Performance cores supporting Hyper-Threading.

Core i5-12490F, it is practically a Core i5-12500F, but … without an active integrated graphics processor and with a different L3 memory, because 20 MB, not 18 MB. This is certainly due to the fact that the former uses a C0 silicon matrix characteristic of full-fledged 12th generation processors with 16 cores, and the latter from H0, which is fully implemented with 6 cores.
