Iran to set special tariffs for electricity for miners

The Iranian Economic Commission made calculations of special tariffs for electricity for miners, and now they are being approved by the Iranian Cabinet of Ministers.

As the Deputy Minister of Energy of the country, Homayoon Haeri, said, the final version of the calculations is ready and is in the process of being approved by the Iranian Cabinet of Ministers – a special body consisting of ministers and other officials elected by the president.

It is reported that the price of electricity for miners will depend on market factors, including the price of oil. Earlier, the head of the Iranian energy syndicate, Ali Bakshi (Ali Bakhshi), suggested that the price of electricity for miners could be $ 0.07 per kilowatt. At the same time, electricity is supplied to the population in Iran at a price of $ 0.05 per kilowatt, and in the agricultural and industrial sectors it is even cheaper.

Recall that recently companies in China have expressed interest in locating mining facilities in Iran. Local miners are trying to find a “new home” for themselves, since the Chinese authorities’ not too friendly attitude towards cryptocurrency can lead to a ban on mining in the country.
