Italy, Sweden and the Czech Republic will lead the European Blockchain Partnership for the coming year

Italy, Sweden and the Czech Republic will co-chair the European Blockchain Partnership for one year.

After the European Blockchain Partnership, held this week in Brussels, the three countries assumed the chairmanship of the organization, which will last from July 2019 to July 2020.

Marco Bellezza, Legal Adviser to the Minister of Economic Development, Labor and Social Policy of Italy Luigi Di Maio, and coordinator of the Italian delegation of the EU Blockchain Partnership, said:

“The Italian Chairmanship of the European Blockchain Partnership will be the first confirmation of the activities carried out in this area on the initiative of Minister Luigi Di Mayo, in order to give Italy the leading role in European blockchain projects. This is a unique opportunity to further develop knowledge and use this technology in the interests of citizens and business by strengthening cooperation within the EU. ”

Italy joined the European Blockchain Partnership last September. The European Blockchain Partnership is an organization created by the European Commission in 2018 as “a means of cooperation between EU member states to exchange experience and knowledge in technical and regulatory areas and prepare to launch European blockchain applications in the single digital market for the benefit of the public and private sectors” .
