Originally scheduled for July 2019, meal with Warren Buffett won at auction by the founder of Tron finally took place last month. For the occasion, the legendary anti-crypto investor received his first bitcoin.
This summer, Justin Sun was pleased to have won the eBay auction ($ 4.56 million) for the traditional charity meal with Warren Buffett, famous investor and CEO of the investment company Berkshire hathaway.
While the event was scheduled for July 25, 2019 in San Francisco, Sun suddenly decided to postpone the meal, evoking health problems.
Meanwhile, Chinese media have claimed that he is in fact being detained in China by the authorities. However, Sun quickly launched a live video from San Francisco to prove that he was ill and in the United States, while apologizing for creating so much buzz around the event.
Six months later, on January 23 exactly, the two men finally met during a long dinner at the Happy Hollow Club in Omaha, Nebraska.
It was truly an honor and I am grateful for the dinner, wisdom and vision of Mr. Buffett. I will always remember his kindness and support, and will follow his advice to make Tron a better ecosystem, ”said Sun.
The 29-year-old Chinese entrepreneur was accompanied by several figures from the cryptocurrency industry. Present at the table: Charlie Lee, creator of Litecoin, Chris Lee, chief financial officer of Huobi, Yoni Assia, CEO of eToro and Helen Hai, head of the Binance Charity Foundation.

After dinner, Buffett, who once compared Bitcoin to "rat dead", received numerous gifts, including a Samsung smartphone containing a bitcoin as well as almost 2 million pieces TRX.
Sun also said it plans to join the charity initiative The Giving Pledge launched in 2010 by Buffett and which already has two crypto-billionaires.
