Kingston announced the availability of a new SSD for the data center: the NVMe DC1000B M.2 boot drive. This new SSD is ideal for servers with one or two NVMe M.2 slots dedicated to boot, which preserves valuable 2.5-inch front-loading bays for additional data storage. The DC1000B is designed in a 2280 format that includes protection in case of loss of power integrated in the card and resistance 0.5 DWPD4 For greater durability. The Kingston DC1000B offers impressive performance with speeds of up to 3.2 GB / s and 205,000 IOPStwo and is designed for boot, as well as for cache and login applications.

Keith Schimmenti, Business Manager of Enterprise SSD Units at Kingston, said that “although the M.2 format was originally developed for client machines, its small physical size and high performance make it ideal for use on servers. The DC1000B is designed specifically for new servers of both shipowners and OEM Level 1 that use NVMe M.2 SSD drives for boot purposes, in addition to the ability to be configured as a local cache unit. ”
