PRAGUE, 1 sen — RIA Novosti. This year’s summer was the warmest since 1775, when the Clementinum meteorological station in the center of Prague began to monitor air temperature, the press service of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute said.
“With its average temperature of plus 22.2 degrees, this summer ranks fifth in 248 years (including 1775 and 2022) of observations at the Clementinum weather station. This figure is 3.2 degrees higher than the average summer temperature for the period 1775-2022. The warmer summer was in Prague in 2019, 2018, 2003 and 2015. The highest temperature was recorded in 2019 – 22.9 degrees,” the text says.
At the same time, the sixth highest temperature indicator at the Clementinum weather station, which is the oldest in Central Europe, was recorded back in 1834, it amounted to 22.1 degrees.
