Mark Mobius: "If Bitcoin continues to grow, I will become a buyer"

Investor Mark Mobius, who was previously skeptical about cryptocurrency and called bitcoin “real fraud”, seems to have changed his mind.

In an interview with Bloomberg, the founder of Mobius Capital Partners LLP said that he was considering the possibility of buying the first cryptocurrency. As the financier explained, the current policy of the US Fed and a possible financial crisis in the future are pushing him to this step.

“If Bitcoin continues to grow, then I’ll probably become a buyer and get into all of this,” Mobius said. At the same time, a veteran of the financial industry admitted that he did not know how to estimate the real value of Bitcoin and how much it costs to pay for one coin.

He also noted that although the number of cryptocurrency owners is relatively small, they very much believe in Bitcoin. All fiat currencies of the world, whether it be the US dollar or the Chinese yuan, are based precisely on the faith of people in the stability of this currency. In this sense, Bitcoin is no different from ordinary currencies.

Back in 2017, Mobius said that investor confidence contributes to the growth of Bitcoin. The subsequent fall in the cryptocurrency market turned the investor against the first cryptocurrency. However, it seems that the gloomy prospects of the traditional financial system forced him to reconsider his views.

Recently it became known that investor Henry Kravis (Henry Kravis) has invested part of their funds in the cryptocurrency fund ParaFi Capital. In addition, a study by Genesis Capital showed that institutional investors have increased activity in the cryptocurrency industry by 300% over the past year.
