MOSCOW, Sep 1 — PRIME. Telecom operators in France in the winter can be affected by blackouts amid a lack of electricity, this can seriously affect their work, the Figaro newspaper writes.

France says ECB rate decisions should be ‘methodical’
It is noted that the French Federation of Telecom Operators (FFTelecoms), worried about the consequences of a power outage, warns the authorities about a “catastrophic scenario”.
“Without electricity, base stations no longer work, but 95% of emergency messages go through these networks,” Lisa Bellulo, president of FFTelecoms, quoted the publication as saying.
It indicates that restarting an antenna that has stopped working is a complex process.
Industry representatives are expected to submit proposals to the government to reduce electricity consumption at the end of September.
