MOSCOW, September 9 — PRIME. The proposal to impose a price limit on gas from Russia did not receive broad support from EU energy ministers on Friday, Western media reported, citing diplomats.

Headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels

The EC saw no reason to move to mandatory gas savings in the European Union

According to Reuters, which cites two unnamed EU diplomats, the proposal “did not receive broad support from EU energy ministers at the meeting on Friday.”

One of the interlocutors of the agency noted that the European Commission should come up with a proposal that “will help reduce prices for all gas, but at the same time will not put gas supplies to Europe at risk.”

Earlier it was reported that the energy ministers of the EU countries at an extraordinary meeting on September 9 will discuss additional measures that can be applied in the EU due to high energy prices.
