For Sony’s peace of mind, Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, Microsoft’s gaming division, announced last night through his official Twitter account that Call of Duty will continue to arrive on PlayStation consoles.

This announcement comes shortly after Sony began “complaining” that it expected Microsoft will respect the agreement it had with Activision, which guaranteed that Call of Duty games would reach their PlayStation consoles.

This is how we can really see how the industry works: Sony buys studios and games become exclusive, while if Microsoft makes the same move, spending a lot more money on its acquisitions, there are already complaints about possible exclusivities and the “crying” arrives for them to keep the Activision Blizzard titles as cross-platform.

“This week I had good calls with Sony leaders. I confirmed our intention to honor all existing agreements following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard and our desire to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation. Sony is an important part of our industry and we value our relationship,” said Phil Spencer.

“We expect Microsoft to abide by contractual agreements and continue to ensure that Activision games are cross-platform,” a Sony spokesperson said earlier in the day.
