Minecraft frogs: how to find them

Minecraft adds updates and makes changes to the game at a fairly rapid rate. The Cliffs and Caves update is only a few months old, but the next major update has already rolled out for beta testers. This new update is called Wild Update and it introduces new mobs and blocks.

Minecraft frogs

One of the new mobs coming to Minecraft are frogs. These are passive mobs and if you are a member of Minecraft Beta on Windows 10, or have downloaded the Java Beta edition, you can check them out for yourself. Frogs are not hostile to the player, but appear to attack passive mobs (they eat goats, but this is currently considered a bug and not a characteristic). They are not yet a crafting ingredient for any major items, but they can be used to create a frog light.

Frog light in Minecraft

A frog light is a light source block, and as you can see from the name, you need a frog to make it. To make a frog light up, you need a frog and a magma cube.

Frogs breed in swamp biomes. They tend to have one of three colors: ash white, orange, and green. The color depends on the temperature of the biome. Frogs will spawn in mobs of 1 or four. You can tame a frog by feeding it seagrasses, however seagrasses will likely be replaced by a different item by the time this mob reaches stable users.

The next thing you need is a magma cube. A magma cube is a hostile slime-like mob found in the abyss. You need to catch one and take it to the overworld or you need to bring a frog to the nether one.

The frog needs to eat the magma cube, and in this case, the more frogs you have, the better. Once the magma cube is eaten, you will get a frog light. A frog light is a source of light and nothing else. It will be one of the most difficult to manufacture since the elements necessary to manufacture it are generated in different dimensions.

conclusion

Beta builds are available for both Minecraft Java and Minecraft Bedrock. Make sure to back up all your worlds before accessing them from a beta version. In Bedrock, be sure to enable the experimental Wild Update feature for a world from its settings. If you don’t turn it on, you may not see all the new items in the beta. There is no ETA on when Frogs and other new mobs will arrive in stable.
