Mintsifra expects high-speed Internet in the north of Yakutia

MOSCOW, 20 Oct – PRIME. The Ministry of Digital Development of Russia is working on signing an agreement on laying 11 routes of a fiber-optic communication line (FOCL) with a length of about seven thousand kilometers in the north of Yakutia in 2023-2025, they will connect about 72 thousand people to high-speed Internet, RIA Novosti was told in the press service departments.

“We are talking about 11 FOCL routes on the territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The planned period of their construction is 2023-2025, and the total length is about 7 thousand kilometers. The routes will run through 86 settlements, the estimated coverage of the population will be about 72 thousand people” , – representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development noted.

Earlier Thursday, Russia’s Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev said the agency was signing a separate agreement to extend fiber optic lines to northern Yakutia. The contractor for the project has not been specified.
