Most Americans who are Interested in Bitcoin are Regular Parents

Grayscale has investigated who those people in the US are who are interested in bitcoin. One of the conclusions from the research is that there is a growing interest of Americans in Bitcoin as an investment. A surprising result is that the majority of those interested are already parents. Majority is an understatement, as many as seventy percent say they already have children.

Parents see bitcoin as an alternative

What this means is in their forties and fifties who are now raising children and young adults, who can pass on their experience on financial management and investments in cryptocurrency. The fact that they show an interest in bitcoin is, according to Grayscale, one game changer. Despite the negative headlines from the media and the negative attitude of the government, many Americans see bitcoin as an alternative to secure value.

Not as young and hip as imagined

The research, conducted in collaboration with Q8 Research, asked 1,100 Americans between 25 and 64 years of age and thus provides insight into what the average bitcoin holder looks like. Assuming that this research is somewhat representative, you can invalidate a certain stereotype. Namely the stereotype that bitcoin is mainly for the young, trendy hipsters.

The research shows that investors are middle-aged, belong to the middle class and live in suburbs (or, as Americans say so nicely, suburbans). Whether bitcoin is no longer a hip and young coin, the research leaves open.

Determine the size of your investment yourself

The reason why this group is attracted to an investment in bitcoin is that you can invest as much or as little as you want. That may also have to do with the income. As stated, seventy percent of the respondents are parents and nearly half of this group earn less than one hundred thousand dollars a year. Grayscale draws the cautious conclusion that this group has more experience and is more tolerant to risks than average investors.

You may have heard of Grayscale before, they previously made the above advertising video. The message here is correct that young hip people switch from gold to bitcoin. Grayscale is therefore not necessarily objective when it comes to bitcoin investigations. It is therefore not surprising that the research ends with the words:

Bitcoin is here to stay
