MSI table will help you figure out which NVIDIA Ampere graphics cards are installed in the company’s laptops

Manufacturers do not strive to make the division of their products clearer, but on the contrary, they often lead buyers into a stupor, including in one series of models copies on different microarchitectures or with different frequencies and power consumption.

It comes to the point that the models are almost impossible to identify before the purchase. Recently, NVIDIA decided to remove the Max-P and Max-Q designations from the marking, which clearly indicated the class of the video card – performance or efficiency. Manufacturers must indicate the maximum power consumption level of the discrete graphics card Total Graphics Power (TGP), which indirectly indicates the operating frequencies. But not all manufacturers are in a hurry to do this.

MSI unveiled a spreadsheet at a recent tech broadcast that will help you figure out what class of video card is installed in a particular laptop of the company. MSI uses three variants of the RTX 3060 and RTX 3080 in its models, as well as two variants of the RTX 3070.
