Nintendo Switch: no Pro in 2020, the Animal Crossing variant arrives

The rumors about the arrival by the end of the year of a more powerful variant of Nintendo Switch have been chasing each other for some time and have recently returned to the fore, but 2020 will not be the year of Switch Pro. To disprove the previous rumors was Shuntaro Furukawa, CEO and president of Nintendo:

As for Nintendo Switch, we believe it is important to continue to communicate the charm of the two variants of the console by concentrating on expanding the installed base. We emphasize that we have no plans to launch a new Nintendo Switch model in 2020.

The debut of the alleged "Switch Pro" is therefore not among the annual plans of Nintendo that, on the other hand, has announced a new special edition of its hybrid console (standard and not Lite, to be precise) dedicated to the awaited Animal Crossing: New Horizons, title released on March 20.

The special packaging will arrive in Europe on March 20 and will include console and respective white custom base with Animal Crossing-themed artwork together with the matching Joy-Con in pastel green and blue. Please note that in the packaging there will be no copy of the game which can be purchased separately.
