Novatek asked for additional resources for gas supplies to Kamchatka

MOSCOW, September 5 – PRIME. Novatek is ready to build infrastructure for the gasification of Kamchatka, but for this it will need additional resources, said the head of the company, Leonid Mikhelson, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin predicted good financial results for Novatek

According to the entrepreneur, Novatek has already developed and approved technical solutions for the construction of an LNG complex, which includes two shuttle vessels and a regasification terminal. According to estimates, this will require about 29 billion rubles, while construction must begin now, he stressed.

At the same time, the condition of gas supplies at regulated prices raises questions, since without additional resources, Novatek will not be able to meet the prices set by the FAS.

“In this regard, we ask for your support in resolving the issue of allocating an additional resource base for the LNG project, under the license conditions of which it is possible to secure the obligation to supply the required 600 million cubic meters of gas to Kamchatka at regulated prices,” he added.

Novak considered the decisions proposed by Novatek on gasification of Kamchatka important

Until the necessary decisions are made, Novatek can supply gas to Kamchatka from Sakhalin-2, Mikhelson added.

Later, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told Russian President Vladimir Putin that the government would work on the issue with Novatek and Gazprom.
