NVIDIA could launch a GeForce GTX 1630 this month

The GTX 1630 could be coming very soon, a graphics card for the neglected low-end market. Until now we have seen cards like the GT 730 or the GT 1030, but the truth is that today they are very old solutions. Y the last GTX, the GTX 1650, was released in April 2019, more than 3 years ago.

With the rise in GPU prices, NVIDIA left the low-end market for a while. The company only released its RTX 3050 card in January of this year, 14 months after the first Ampere models debuted. However, with an introductory price of $249 USD, this model is still out of reach for many gamers.

AMD released the Radeon RX 6500XT and RX 6400 cards almost at the same time, just a month ago and with this NVIDIA has a problem with the low-end GPU market. The reds recently launched a marketing campaign showing the value of the AMD Radeon RX 6000 compared to the GeForce RTX 30, GTX 16/10, Junk marketing from AMD that deceives the players but according to them they are cheaper and perform more, the higher performance as always is wrong.

But it is also true that in the low-end market, the gap between the prices of AMD and NVIDIA is remarkable, especially considering that those cards weren’t designed for heavy ray tracing gaming.

According to the leak, the GeForce GTX 1630 will replace the GTX 1050 Ti, so it will probably cost less than 190 USD (that’s the current price of the GTX 1650). At the moment, the specifications of the GTX 1630 are unknown, but it is probably a TU117 (Turing) GPU with a power requirement of less than 75 W and GDDR6 memory.

The GTX 1650 has five models including the GPU based TU106, TU116 and TU117 and even has a SUPER variant. But not all of these cards are available everywhere and the same strategy could be applied on the GTX 1630.

This is the second time we have heard about the GTX 1630 and it seems that from what we can see, it will arrive soon, at the end of this month or in June.
