Nvidia Geforce “Pascal” in continued low availability

After a record long time on the same manufacturing technology, Nvidia took the step from 28 to 16 nanometers in late spring with the Pascal architecture. This not only gave a real boost in energy efficiency but also performance, which made performance-thirsty enthusiasts rush to store shelves.

Since launch, supply has at times been scarce for the new graphics card family with the Geforce GTX 1080, GTX 1070 and GTX 1060 models. Now the industry magazine Digitimes reports that supply remains low, which is due to strong demand rather than manufacturing problems.

Sales of graphics cards mean that profits for players such as Asus, Gigabyte, MSI and Colorful are expected to reach new heights in the third quarter, something that is likely to strengthen with Nvidia’s launch of the Geforce GTX 1050, which will be released in late September or October.

The situation is also reflected in Swedish retailers. While all graphics cards are available for purchase, it varies greatly between different models and it is primarily the Geforce GTX 1070 that is available, while the storage shelves are empty on a large part of the GTX 1060 and GTX 1080 models.
