Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 faster than GTX 1080?

Several unsettling scores 3DMark Timespy.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 is coming out in just a few days, and it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t see a few leaks just prior to the release of the graphics cards.

Fortunately, the Internet continues to provide information, as always, 3DMark TimeSpy scores are found by a digital scout. According to the benchmark leak, the Zotac Nvidia RTX 2070 version scored 8151 points.

If the score is real, the score is 1,000 points higher than the 7194 points in our Nvidia GTX 1080 review.

While the results are impressive, the new GPU looks less impressive than the Nvidia RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti, which scored 10139 and 12123 in our testing, respectively.

The GeForce RTX 2070 feels alarmingly weak compared to the rest of Nvidia’s Turing graphics cards. And this is especially odd considering that the GPU was running (allegedly) under a significant overclock of 1950 MHz during testing – well above the stable frequencies between 1410 MHz and 1620 MHz.

From this leaked data, it appears that the user was testing an RTX 2070 with an Intel Core i7-8700K processor running at base speeds, which may have been a testing bottleneck.

Of course we’re going to take numbers with a pinch of salt because there are too many unknown variables around the leak data. You could also expect our very own Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 review coming out shortly with approved test results.
