Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 review – Simple Verdict With Pros and Cons-  As soon as we survived the hefty $ 549  price tag for the Nvidia GTX 1080, which came noticeably more expensive than its predecessor, the RTX 2080 became significantly more expensive – $ 799

VerdictThe graphics card doesn’t reach the heights of the RTX 2080 Ti, but Nvidia’s high-performance Turing RTX GPU is close to hitting 60 FPS at 4K for a moderately steep price tag.

pros:

  • Impressive increase in frame rate
  • The second highest quality graphics card in the world;
  • Very simple overclocking of a video card;

Minuses:

  • Most expensive xx80 graphics card from Nvidia
  • Dips below 60 frames in some 4K games;
  • Increase in food consumption;

Nvidia “xx80” graphics cards (such as the GTX 980 and GTX 1080) have always had a sweet spot in the market, offering amazing performance to justify high prices. Now, as a spokesperson for Nvidia Turing 20-series graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 2080 proves that the rule is true again, but the price continues to rise along with gaming performance, which is on the verge of breaking the 60fps barrier at 4K resolution.

| GEFORCE RTX 2080 PRICES AND AVAILABILITY

As soon as we survived the hefty $ 549  price tag for the Nvidia GTX 1080, which came noticeably more expensive than its predecessor, the RTX 2080 became significantly more expensive – $ 799

Keep in mind that this is the price of the Founder Edition for this generation, which is the high-end version of the Nvidia GPU. You will find other models starting a little cheaper at $ 699.

That said, the RTX 2080 represents another significant price increase for Nvidia graphics cards. It hasn’t been long since the Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti was only $ 699. With this latest series of GeForce GPUs, it seems like Nvidia is once again distorting the pricing of existing graphics cards by continuing to rise in price.

Looking for the highest quality graphics card within the $ 500 (R32,500) Radeon RX Vega 64 is the only option available in town. However, AMD’s high-performance Vega GPU has been on the market for quite some time, and we haven’t even gotten a hint that the red team is preparing new graphics cards.

The RTX 2080 goes on sale worldwide on September 20, 2018. However, stocks of graphics cards will be limited if you have not pre-ordered.

Nvidia GeForce RTX Specifications

| GEFORCE RTX 2080 FEATURES AND FEATURES

Specifications are important, the RTX 2080 is a step up from its predecessors in every way, with more CUDA cores, fast GDDR6 video memory, and even a first-time overclocked 90MHz processor on Nvidia Founder Edition cards.

In addition, the Nvidia RTX 2080 offers a combination of 46 RT cores and 468 Tensor cores, which play a role in real-time ray tracing rendering and AI computing.

Both features are unique to the latest Nvidia graphics cards, but you’ll probably immediately notice the effect of RT cores and Nvidia RTX in general, as they transform puddles, glass, and other reflective surfaces in video games.

In addition, the capabilities of the new cores are extremely impressive. By introducing AI into its graphics cards, Nvidia claims that all Turing GPUs will be able to handle anti-aliasing eight times faster. The RTX 2080 will also be able to take advantage of the new Deep Learning Super Sampling feature, which is much more efficient in super-sampling and anti-aliasing scenarios at the same time.

Popular overclocking apps such as EVGA Precision X1 and MSI Afterburner are soon integrating the new NV Scanner API to help accelerate your GPU by adjusting the microvoltage curve and checking for stable speed and voltage during overclocking.

The new overclocking assistance solution essentially takes the guesswork out of trying to maximize GPU performance, and is also one of the most unique features we loved about Turing.

| GEFORCE RTX 2080: PERFORMANCE

The Nvidia RTX 2080 is certainly immodestly more expensive than its predecessor graphics card, but thankfully the results are able to offset the price increase. The new GPU is significantly better than the GTX 1080, with a significant increase in benchmark scores, outperforming the GTX 1080 Ti and Titan Xp.

With the exception of the Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti, you won’t find another graphics card that could be more powerful.

In gaming, you’ll see an even bigger leap in performance if you decide to install a new RTX graphics card. The results in games with a resolution of 1080p show an increase of 20-40 frames. Meanwhile, at 4K resolution, the Nvidia RTX 2080 hits 60fps, which is damn impressive.

Outside of our tests, the RTX 2080 managed 40 frames per second behind Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 4K resolution and maximum graphics settings. Destiny 2 delivered even better numbers with frame rates between 60-75, 4K again and Ultra graphics plus HDR.

| GEFORCE RTX 2080: SUMMING UP

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080

If you’re willing to pay the $ 799 (Rs 52,000) royal sum that Nvidia asks for this graphics card, you won’t be disappointed. Aside from the Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti, there is no graphics card faster than this, and no graphics card capable of delivering games closer to 60 FPS at 4K resolution.

And while the RTX 2080 comes incredibly close to sacred, silky-smooth Ultra-HD frame rates, you could forgo the compromises and graphics settings in games by opting for the flagship Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti graphics card.

Our choice fell on the Nvidia RTX 2080, as the graphics card offers the performance we need, even if you have to save a little to swallow the extra charge.
