Nvidia is working on the Geforce GTX 1070 Ti

Last year, Nvidia launched its latest graphics architecture Pascal with the Geforce GTX 1080. Next up is Volta, but when this will be available in models intended for ordinary consumers is currently unknown.

According to sources at Techpowerup, Nvidia is preparing to launch a new model based on Pascal, namely the Geforce GTX 1070 Ti. In terms of performance, this is said to end up somewhere between the Geforce GTX 1070 and GTX 1080, or alternatively replace the former entirely.

In terms of specifications, there is talk of 2,048 CUDA cores, compared to the 1,920 pieces of Geforce GTX 1070, as well as faster GDDR5 or GDDR5X memory. This is believed to be accompanied by higher clock frequencies in both standard and turbo mode.

The goal of the launch is stated to be to offer an alternative to AMD’s Radeon RX Vega 56 which performs better than this, and has lower power consumption. It is currently unknown if it is a new model with a new name or if the company updates the current Geforce GTX 1070, in the same way as they did with the GTX 1060 and GTX 1080.
