Nvidia presents the Geforce GTX 680 in video

Nvidia’s marketing manager Ujesh Desai is the man holding up a brand new Geforce GTX 680 in a video on Youtube. The new graphics card will be released in just a few hours, but for those who can not wait until this afternoon, a couple of hitherto unconfirmed details will still appear.

According to Nvidia, the Geforce GTX 680 will be titled the world’s fastest graphics card with a single graphics processor. However, the new model is not only fast but also energy efficient, thanks in part to the GPU Boost function, which can overclock the graphics processor as needed.

Another novelty is the TXAA anti-aliasing feature, which is said to be able to produce image quality on a par with heavy MSAA for only a fraction of the performance loss. Nvidia also adds “dynamic fracture” and fur effects to the PhysX system, connections for up to four screens and support for 3D Vision Surround with a single graphics card.
