Nvidia scraps Geforce GTX 770, GTX 780, GTX 780 Ti – price drops GTX 760

After a long wait, Nvidia launched the Maxwell architecture for the performance segment earlier in the day. In addition to low power consumption, the Geforce GTX 980 and GTX 970 deliver top-class performance at competitive prices, something that shakes up the top-class performance.

The newcomers have the recommended prices of SEK 5,249 and SEK 3,149, respectively, which infringes on the Geforce GTX 770, GTX 780 and GTX 780 Ti. As a result, these models reach the end of the road and exit. SweClockers has previously reported that retailers are expected to empty their stock of the former top models shortly and sell out at least the GTX 780 and GTX 780 Ti.

At the same time, Nvidia is responding to AMD’s Radeon R9 285 and lowering the price of the Geforce GTX 760. The new price tag is 219 dollars, or 30 dollars lower than before, which is equivalent to a couple of hundred bucks in Swedish stores. There is also speculation that the price reduction will pave the way for the Geforce GTX 960, which is expected to arrive sometime in October.
