Nvidia’s latest driver is having issues

In connection with new game launches, graphics card manufacturers are releasing new drivers with optimizations for the titles and fixing previously known problems. Earlier this week, Nvidia did this, but now a number of users are reporting issues that have arisen with the new Geforce 375.86 driver.

Several users are now reporting, including on Nvidia’s own forum, that the driver is not working properly and is causing problems. These include flashing textures in games and the fact that the memory clock frequency drops to 810 MHz on several Pascal-based graphics cards, which leads to reduced performance.

The affected users believe that the problems disappear by installing an earlier version. The problem has been brought to the attention of Nvidia and just as with one of the company’s previous drivers, which was also pulled with problems, a new update that addresses this is expected to be released soon.
