Nvidia’s upcoming graphics card will be part of the Geforce GTX 11 series

In May 2016, Nvidia introduced its new Pascal graphics architecture with the Geforce GTX 1080 model. This was followed a year later by the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti, which was also based on the Pascal architecture and offered higher performance and more graphics memory. Since then, however, relatively little has happened in the market, but there has recently been talk of new graphics architectures from the company.

What the names of Nvidia’s upcoming graphics cards will be is still unknown, but now Tweaktown reports that they will be part of the Geforce GTX 11 series, and not the GTX 20 series as previously thought. Nvidia reportedly changes the naming scheme slightly for these to distinguish them from current models, with extensions other than 60, 70 and 80.

In terms of the name of the architecture, there has previously been talk of both Ampere and Turing. Data also suggest that one of these is specifically focused on mining cryptocurrencies, while the other is adapted for gambling.

It has been reported that the new models will be shown during the graphics conference GTC 2018, which starts on March 27 at 18:00 Swedish time.
