After Oppo received a patent for a smartphone with a camera under the display, the company went on to secure the rights to further projects. This time there are three smartphones that share one feature – an additional display on the back.
Smartphones with an additional rear display are becoming more and more popular. The second screen is present in models such as the Galaxy Z Flip, Meizu Pro 7, Mi 11 Ultra or the latest Huawei P50 Pocket. They give additional possibilities, because they allow you to check notifications, as well as conveniently take selfies using better cameras.
Structurally, the three smartphones whose designs are included in the patents differ from each other in the shape of the camera island and the additional screen. We have two circular islands with a circular or square display in the center. And also a larger, rectangular display with a horizontal island above it.
Probably Oppo, like other manufacturers, will use this screen to display notifications or take selfies, but the patents issued by WIPO do not mention whether they will be tactile or not. It is also unknown whether any of these devices will eventually see the light of day. However, this did not prevent the LetsGoDigital service from creating the render that you can see above.
