ORP Arctowski (266) renovation completed.  The Polish hydrographic vessel is back in operation

On May 24, 2019, a major renovation and modernization of ORP Arctowski was commissioned as part of a PLN 50 million contract that has just been completed. Therefore, on Wednesday, April 6, this Polish hydrographic ship with a length of 61.8 meters and 1,214 tons of displacement left the PGZ Quay of Stocznia Wojenna in Gdynia.

The work was comprehensive and extensive, which practically included modernization “from the stern to the bow”. As part of them, the hydrographic ship ORP Arctowski has undergone a number of modernizations, which covered practically everything – from systems to cabling and accommodation for a crew of 49 officers and sailors. Thanks to such a renovation, the ship will serve for many more years and good, because it is a completely Polish construction.

ORP Arctowski is an example of the hydrographic project 874, which was designed in Poland and built at the Northern Shipyard in Gdańsk. His tasks? Navigation and hydrographic support for the operations of the Polish Navy and the implementation of tasks for the benefit of the maritime economy and navigation safety.
