Phanteks launches custom water blocks for Geforce GTX 1080

During last year’s Computex trade fair, the chassis and radiator manufacturer Phanteks announced that they are entering the water cooling market with their own components and accessories. Initially, it was about high-quality couplings as well as a comprehensive water block of copper and acrylic plastic for Nvidia’s reference variant “Founder’s Edition” of Geforce GTX 1080.

Now the company is broadening its range of water blocks for Geforce GTX 1080, where the focus is on variants developed to fit many partner manufacturers’ popular graphics cards. Among these are blocks for Asus Strix, Gigabyte’s G1 Gaming, EVGA’s FTW and MSI’s Gaming series, where the cooling devices have been designed according to the various manufacturers’ own-designed circuit boards.

In terms of specifications, these are similar properties as the company’s previous blocks for Nvidia’s “Founder’s Edition”, which means a base made of nickel-plated copper with a lid of transparent acrylic plastic. The whole thing is topped off with brushed aluminum plates and RGB lighting, where the latter can be driven directly by the graphics card or via the light controller that is integrated in some of Phantek’s chassis.

Phantek’s newly cast water blocks for Geforce GTX 1080 are expected to be available in stores during the first quarter of the year with a recommended price of EUR 150 or the equivalent of SEK 1,500 including VAT.
