In addition, standards appeared only in Russia. The first assigned copies of “four hundred and eighty” did not reach 1/9 of the land until mid/late August.

On July 19, the main competitor of the Radeon RX 480, the GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB, went on sale (review). Greens behaved strangely. They only sell the expensive reference in their own store. Not working in Russia yet. Other modifications were immediately leaked to the retail public. What did these multiple steps lead to? According to Steam statistics, for the month of August, 0.24% of users of this game client have already become owners of the GeForce GTX 1060. Radeon RX 480 owners only …

The fact of the matter is that Polaris-novelties are not included in the stats, despite the odds of almost a whole month! And in such a vote with the money, I don’t blame the success of the GeForce GTX 1060 accelerator as much as I blame the lack of such versatility. So far, in mid-September 2016, the neref Radeon RX 480 has been a rare guest on the shelves of local stores.

ROG STRIX-RX480-O8G-GAMING from ASUS, Radeon RX 480 GAMING X 8G from MSI, AXRX 480 8GBD5-3DH / OC from PowerColor, and 11260-07 from SAPPHIRE made it to the test lab. It is noteworthy that the Sony PlayStation 4 Pro is based on the Polaris 10 chip at a significantly lower frequency.

As you can see, some models have already been decently overclocked at the factory. Decent, because for the Polaris 10 processor used in the Radeon RX 480, the frequency range of 1300-1400 MHz is kind of the limit for today. And here the ROG Strix RX 480 runs in OC mode at 1330MHz, and the Red Devil works too. SAPPHIRE contains revision 11260-01. Perhaps the fastest Radeon RX 480 is currently considered non-reference.
