Powercolor announces Radeon R9 Fury

Due to what is believed to be a shortage of graphics processors, Sapphire and Asus became exclusive launch partners for AMD’s Radeon R9 Fury, but they do not seem to be alone for very long. Now the AMD-exclusive graphics card maker Powercolor is unveiling its variant of the enthusiast model.

The graphics card, which is simply called the Powercolor Radeon R9 Fury, is based just like the others on the graphics processor Fiji Pro, which means a 4,096-bit memory bus with 4 GB HBM in 500 MHz (1,000 MHz efficient) for a bandwidth of 512 GB / s. This includes 3,584 stream processors in AMD’s 1,000 MHz reference frequency.

Like Sapphire’s ditto, Powercolor uses AMD’s reference design for the circuit board. This means that the cooling solution extends a bit over the graphics card itself and that the third 90 mm fan blows all the air past, something that can have a positive effect on the cooling. The entire package with six heat conduction pipes of six millimeters each and the associated aluminum flange takes up 2.5 expansion places.

The reference card means that the model, like AMD’s water-cooled Radeon R9 Fury X, has dual 8-pin PCI Express for power supply, and video connections in the form of three Displayport 1.2 and an HDMI 1.4a. When the Powercolor Radeon R9 Fury becomes available, neither the price nor the price will be stated, but expect just over SEK 6,000.
