Powercolor releases Radeon HD 7990 Devil 13

Those who are waiting for the Radeon HD 7990 will have to make do with the partner manufacturers’ own creations, it is clear when Powercolor officially launches the new Radeon HD 7990 Devil 13. That the name changes from 7970 X2 to 7990 indicates that AMD at least had a finger in the game and approved the use of the new model number.

Powercolor’s monsters for graphics cards were already shown at the Computex computer fair in June. The main number is two Tahiti XT circuits of the same size used in the Radeon HD 7970, dual 384-bit memory buses and a total of 6 GB of memory. The clock frequencies amount to 925/1000 MHz GPU and 5.5 GHz GDDR5.

To succeed in this, Powercolor uses a real circuit board with 12 + 2 + 2-phase power supply, digital voltage regulation, PowerIRstage and tantalum capacitors. The eye-catching cooler also contains ten heat pipes and three fans, which takes the weight to a sky-high 1.5 kg.

Last but not least, the model is equipped with outputs for two DVI, two Displayport 1.2 and an HDMI 1.4a. For overclockers, there is also the option to switch between two firmware versions with a button on the connection panel.

The Powercolor Radeon HD 7990 Devil 13 is manufactured in a “limited edition” and will be on sale soon. The price is expected to end up at 999 USD, corresponding to approximately SEK 8,250 including VAT.
