Promotions on selected Radeon RX Vega 56 ahead of the launch of the Geforce GTX 1660 Ti

In the late summer of 2017, AMD released the Vega architecture at 14 nm, which would take the fight against Nvidia in the performance segment. Despite relatively good performance, AMD did not reach all the way, and the unclear pricing together with high power consumption meant that many chose the green team anyway.

Now AMD lowers price models of Radeon RX Vega 56 ahead of what is believed to be the impending launch of the Geforce GTX 1660 Ti – Turing without ray tracing in the hardware. However, this applies to specific models, where the MSI Radeon RX Vega 56 Air Boost OC forms the backbone of the campaign.

The graphics card is available for 279 USD at Newegg, 269 euros at Mindfactory and 249 British pounds at Overclockers UK. Sapphire also has a model with a more expensive cooler for 279 pounds.

The prices correspond to around SEK 3,000, which is also in the same price range as the Geforce GTX 1660 Ti is expected to end up. RX Vega 56 offers 3,584 stream processors in the turbo frequency 1,471 MHz, paired with 8 GB HBM2 memory. In terms of performance, the model ranks just above the GTX 1070, which in turn should mean similar performance with the GTX 1660 Ti.

In addition, buyers get three games on the purchase in the form of remade Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry 5 and the upcoming big game The Division 2. Whether the sale will appear in Sweden is still unclear, but the same model is currently available for SEK 3,690 on PriceSpy.

Radeon RX Vega 56 has been heavily promoted since the holidays and into the new year as partners have been eager to make RX Vega 56 and it’s forward looking 8GB of HBM2 available for more gamers. To clarify, the current Radeon RX Vega 56 promotion is not a price drop. Additionally, the RX Vega 56 graphics card will continue to be offered as part of AMD’s Raise the Game: Fully Loaded bundle with three of this year’s blockbuster titles.

According to AMD’s representative for the Nordics, these are time-limited campaigns for specific regions, and there is thus no question of a global price reduction on the Radeon RX Vega 56. Instead, it is believed to be a directed counter to the launch of the GTX 1660 Ti that is expected to take place. on February 22nd.
