Radar Launches Lightning Network App Store

The Radar blockchain startup behind the development of a decentralized exchange on Ethereum has launched an application store based on the Lightning Network.

Radar CEO Alan Curtis said the company wants to expand its influence on Bitcoin and plans to become the “Lightning Network homepage”. On Tuesday, Radar launched a platform through which users can purchase applications created on the basis of the Lightning Network, paying for the purchase through a single payment channel.

In March, Radar released Radar ION, a Lightning starter kit that includes developer tools, announcements, and tutorials. An app store will be added to Radar ION and will allow developers to showcase their work. According to Curtis, the Radar expansion in the Lightning Network is part of the company’s plan to get started on another network.

“ION is not an abrupt change of strategy. We identified the Lightning Network as a promising technology with almost free and instant payments, and launched ION as our second product earlier this year. The app store is expanding our capabilities and efforts to become the homepage of the Lightning Network, ”said Curtis.

Note that Lightning Network technology is supported by more and more companies. In July, it became known that the Electrum wallet will start supporting the Lightning Network, and Casa has released a mobile application for managing the Lightning Network node.
